Over the last few weeks, we’ve been inundated with new information every day regarding the recent outspread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As the President and key government officials have repeatedly said: we ALL need to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Like you, we’ve kept a close eye on how it is not only impacting the world, but our local community. We at CCS made the decision to implement a full pandemic plan and are following the recommended guidance from the CDC, WHO, Local, State and Federal Government Agencies. We are doing everything possible to keep our employees safe and we hope you are able to do the same.
Our main objective during this time? Continuing to furnish service excellence while keeping our employees safe. We take seriously the effect it could have on our employees, vendors, and our valued customers. To this end, CCS is taking every precaution to ensure a safe environment for our employees and guests. For example:
- Our cleaning efforts have significantly increased. Multiple times a day we are disinfecting all areas. Hand sanitizer is readily available in all operating areas.
- We are monitoring CDC (Center for Disease Control) advisories and following their recommended guidelines as stringently as practicable.
- Per CDC recommendations, we are asking any employee with relevant symptoms (or any affected family member) to self-quarantine for 14 days.
- A strict travel policy is in effect for all employees. We are cancelling meetings involving large groups and are restricting non-employee access to all of our facilities.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to adjust to this outbreak. Currently, the full impact of restrictions being applied by local, state and federal governments in response to the coronavirus is varied. It is safe to say that business won’t be as usual for some time to come. Nobody knows the severity or duration. It’s hard to forecast when there are no precedents, but it is possible — indeed, necessary — to plan, to prepare, to anticipate and to adjust as we learn more.
Our staff is diligently working to make sure that we maintain continually high standards and work within the guidelines and most recent recommendations provided by local, state and federal health agencies, especially the CDC and WHO. In addition to taking all prudent measures internally to maintain effective operational continuity, we are also pursuing several external initiatives to expand our understanding and resources in the event extreme measures become necessary. For example:
- Company leaders are in contact with state, county and municipal officials to ensure that our planning is in full compliance with evolving conditions;
- Key personnel are in continuous dialogue with our supplier community to ensure that sources of materials and supplies are sustainable;
- Our top executives are maintaining continuous dialogue with other independent company operators around the nation (via our involvement with the Imaging Network Group). This sharing of ideas and contingency plans is important to broadening the resource pool, if called upon.
- High level engagement of regional and local U.S.P.S administration is being maintained in order for us to maintain a secure, effective access to this most critical outbound distribution service.
